Overview
Known for its strengths in agriculture, Kansas state university is a large public university in the Midwest. the school. Divided into mine colleges, provides a fair amount of academic variety and a lively campus scene that turns purple on football game days. Located in Manhattan, Kansas , about 55 miles west of Topeka, the campus features architecture ranging from limestone to red brick. k-state students are generally spirited about their school, swearing by the friendly Midwestern vibe of the people and proud of the great college town so abundant with popular bars and coffee shops.
Academic
KSU offers 202 majors with each college having its own university general education. though course requirements vary by specific college, most have requirements in English/writing, math, and foreign language; all requirements are in place to ensure adequate breadth of learning at k state through ''the diversity of knowledge and the ability to make connections between disciplines.'' despite the large student body, students say that professors are easy to get in touch with and responsive to their needs. Additionally, each student receives a faculty member as an academic advisor. Among the strongest programs available at k state are agriculture, architecture planning and design, and veterinary medicine. Kansas state university's honors programs offer motivated students the chance to tackle several disciplines at once and conduct original research. Honors program students take special classes and work with the university' top professors while combining their interests and experience to write an honors project or thesis in any field of study. To be eligible for admission, students must have a minimum 3.75 GPA , an ACT store of 28 or above, and complete short entrance application.
